17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This print captures the awe-inspiring interior view of Harmondsworth Great Barn, located in Greater London. Built in 1426-7 by Winchester College, this medieval timber-framed barn stands as a testament to England's rich architectural heritage. With its towering roof and intricate ceiling, it is no wonder that this magnificent structure has earned the nickname "Cathedral of Middlesex" as coined by Sir John Betjeman. The sheer size of the Great Barn is truly remarkable, making it one of the largest ever constructed in England. Its grandeur and historical significance are further emphasized by its remarkably well-preserved state, remaining largely unaltered since before the Dissolution period. This makes it one of Britain's most complete pre-Dissolution buildings. In this photograph captured by Boris Baggs, every detail comes to life - from the sturdy timber beams that support the weighty roof to the exquisite craftsmanship evident throughout. The play of light and shadow adds depth and dimension to an already breathtaking scene. Harmondsworth Great Barn serves not only as a reminder of our past but also as a source of inspiration for future generations. It stands tall as a symbol of resilience and ingenuity, showcasing how architecture can withstand centuries while retaining its beauty and functionality. Through this image, we are transported back in time to experience firsthand the magnificence and splendor that once graced medieval England – an enduring legacy preserved for all to admire.
