17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This print showcases the exquisite artwork of Isack Van Ostade, a renowned Dutch painter from the 17th century. Titled "A Canal in Winter" this masterpiece captures the serene beauty of a frozen canal amidst a snowy landscape. The painting, now housed in London's Kenwood House as part of The Iveagh Bequest, evokes a sense of tranquility and nostalgia. Van Ostade's meticulous attention to detail is evident in every brushstroke, as he skillfully depicts the winter scene with remarkable precision. The icy canal stretches into the distance, its surface reflecting the soft glow of sunlight peeking through heavy clouds. Bare trees line its banks like silent sentinels against nature's wintry embrace. The composition exudes an air of stillness and quietude; one can almost hear the muffled sounds of footsteps on snow or distant laughter carried by crisp winter winds. Van Ostade masterfully captures not only the physical elements but also infuses his work with an intangible atmosphere that transports viewers to another time and place. Through this print from Historic England Photo Library, we are granted access to experience Van Ostade's artistry firsthand. It serves as a testament to his enduring legacy and reminds us why his works continue to captivate audiences centuries later. Whether you are an art enthusiast or simply drawn to scenes that evoke emotion, this stunning image invites you to immerse yourself in its timeless beauty
