23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame
FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
1. Title: "Whitby Abbey: A Medieval Gothic Masterpiece Overlooking the North Sea" Whitby Abbey, located in the picturesque town of Whitby in North Yorkshire, England, is a stunning example of medieval architecture and religious history. This engraving, created by Samuel Buck in 1711, captures the breathtaking North View of the abbey, showcasing its grandeur and the awe-inspiring beauty of its Gothic design. The abbey, founded in 657 AD, is steeped in history, with its origins dating back to the early Christian period. The present structure, however, is primarily a result of the Norman Conquest in 1066. The engraving reveals the abbey's imposing presence, with its towering ruins standing proudly against the backdrop of the North Sea. The intricate details of the abbey's architecture are clearly visible, from the pointed arches and flying buttresses to the intricate carvings adorning the walls. The abbey's religious significance is evident in the various structures depicted in the engraving, including the church, the cloisters, and the monks' quarters. The monks, who lived and worshipped within the abbey walls, played a crucial role in the spiritual and intellectual life of the community during the Middle Ages. The abbey was also a center of learning, with its library housing a vast collection of religious texts and manuscripts. This engraving by Samuel Buck serves as a testament to the enduring beauty and historical significance of Whitby Abbey. It invites us to imagine the lives of the monks who once called this place home, and to marvel at the architectural and artistic achievements of the medieval period. The abbey continues to attract visitors from around the world, who come to explore its rich history and to be inspired by its timeless beauty.
