17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame
FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This photograph print showcases a historic moment captured in time, featuring the iconic figure of Arthur Wellesley, the First Duke of Wellington (1769-1852), at Apsley House in London. The Duke, renowned for his military prowess and victories against Napoleon Bonaparte, is depicted in this portrait with The Right Honourable Charles Arbuthnot MP (1767-1850). Arbuthnot, a distinguished diplomat and politician, lived at Apsley House from 1834 to 1850. The photograph was taken at Apsley House, a grand mansion located in London's fashionable district of Regent's Park. This magnificent building, designed by the architect Robert Adam, was originally built for the Duke of Wellington and is now managed by Historic England. The portrait was painted by the Italian artist Spiridione Gambardella (1815-1886) in 1849. Gambardella's masterful brushstrokes bring to life the intricate details of the Duke's military uniform, adorned with medals and insignia, and the elegant attire of Arbuthnot. The warm, natural lighting in the portrait adds depth and texture to the subjects' faces, revealing the wisdom and experience etched into their features. The photograph print offers a glimpse into the past, transporting us back to a time when Apsley House was the residence of two influential figures in British history. It serves as a testament to the rich cultural heritage of London and the enduring legacy of the Duke of Wellington and Charles Arbuthnot.
