17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame
FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This poignant print captures the aftermath of the devastating Coventry Blitz during World War II. Taken in 1941, it shows the exterior of 92 Little Park Street, a house that fell victim to enemy action. The bomb damage is evident on its facade, with broken windows covered by boards displaying notices relating to rationing and air raids. Coventry City centre was left in ruins after intense air raids in November 1940. The historic fabric of the city was destroyed, including much of Little Park Street. This particular house no longer stands; today, it is occupied by the Magistrates Court. The image serves as a powerful reminder of the destruction caused by war and highlights the resilience and strength displayed by those who lived through such trying times. It symbolizes not only physical devastation but also represents a community's determination to rebuild amidst adversity. Photographer George Bernard Mason captured this moment frozen in time, preserving history for future generations to reflect upon. His lens immortalized both the visible scars inflicted upon buildings and the invisible wounds carried within people's hearts. As we gaze at this photograph print, we are reminded of how war can shatter lives and communities but also inspire unity and fortitude. It prompts us to appreciate our present-day peace while honoring those who endured unimaginable hardships during wartime Coventry.
