Architecture Brutalist Style Concrete Listed Grade Ii* Post War

23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
1. Title: A Brutalist Icon: The Heinz South Building at Hayes Park, Hillingdon (1965) 2.. This evocative photograph captures the majestic presence of the Heinz South Building, an architectural masterpiece located in Hayes Park, Hillingdon. Designed by the esteemed American architect Gordon Bunshaft in 1965, this iconic structure serves as the administrative headquarters of an undisclosed organization, embodying the raw power and elegance of Brutalist architecture. Listed as a Grade II* building by Historic England, the Heinz South Building is a testament to post-war architectural innovation. Its imposing concrete facade, characterized by its repetitive, unadorned texture, is a stark contrast to the natural beauty of its surroundings. The building's brutalist style, with its emphasis on raw materials and uncompromising geometric forms, challenges traditional notions of architectural aesthetics. The South Building's design is a thoughtful response to its environment, with its elongated form following the contours of the landscape. The building's large expanses of glass windows not only allow ample natural light to penetrate its interior but also create a dynamic interplay between the structure and the natural world. This photograph, taken by James O. Davies for Historic England, offers a unique perspective of the Heinz South Building, inviting viewers to appreciate its raw beauty and the enduring influence of Brutalist architecture on contemporary design. The building's timeless elegance serves as a reminder of the transformative power of architectural vision and the enduring impact of post-war design on our urban landscapes.
