17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
The captivating print titled "A Witch Sailing to Aleppo in a Sieve, December 1,1807" by Charles Turner takes us on a mystical journey back to the 19th century. This black and white mezzotint showcases an elderly woman, embodying the essence of witchcraft and magic as she sails through the vastness of space. In this impossible scene, we witness the old woman navigating her sieve across the solar system towards Aleppo. Her determined expression contrasts with the serene full moon shining above her. The artist skillfully combines elements of astronomy and geography, creating a concept that challenges our understanding of reality. Turner's artwork invites viewers to ponder upon themes such as imagination and wonder. It serves as a reminder that there is still much left unexplored in both science and folklore. The image captures not only the fascination with witches prevalent during that era but also highlights women's roles in society at that time. Displayed at The Metropolitan Museum of Art (The Met), this piece from Heritage Art offers us a glimpse into an enchanting world where boundaries are blurred between what is possible and what lies beyond our comprehension. As we gaze upon this mesmerizing print, we are reminded of humanity's eternal quest for knowledge and its ceaseless desire to explore even the most unusual realms.
