31"x27" (79x69cm) Premium Frame
FSC real wood frame with double mounted 24x20 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 31x27 inches (787x685mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

Capturing the Essence of a Bygone Era - Type Being Set at the White Rose Press, Mexborough, South Yorkshire, 1968
EDITORS COMMENTS
. This photograph transports us back to the industrial heartland of Mexborough in South Yorkshire during the swinging sixties. The image showcases an intricate process that was once at the forefront of printing technology - movable type being set on a monotype caster. Inside the bustling White Rose Press building, we witness skilled craftsmen meticulously arranging individual metal letters into composing sticks. Their hands move with precision and expertise as they assemble words and sentences that will soon grace pages across Britain. The scene is filled with an air of nostalgia as rows upon rows of towering machinery hum rhythmically in this hive of activity. The monochrome palette adds to the timeless quality, emphasizing both the craftsmanship involved and its historical significance. Photographer Michael Walters has masterfully captured this moment in time, preserving not only a snapshot of British industry but also paying homage to a fading art form. Through his lens, we are transported into an era where technology met tradition; where human skill merged seamlessly with mechanical innovation. As we gaze upon this remarkable print from Paul Walters Worldwide Photography Ltd. , we are reminded that behind every printed word lies countless hours of dedication and expertise. This image serves as a tribute to those unsung heroes who played their part in shaping our literary landscape while simultaneously evoking feelings of admiration for their craftmanship within us all.
