23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This print takes us back to the enchanting city of Tangier in Morocco, circa 1895. The artist Taylor skillfully captures the essence of this North African gem from an eastern perspective. As we gaze upon the image, a sense of timelessness washes over us, transporting us to a bygone era. The focal point of the photograph is undoubtedly the majestic bridge that spans across a serene body of water. Its architectural beauty stands as a testament to human ingenuity and craftsmanship. Beyond the bridge lies a sprawling landscape dotted with buildings that blend harmoniously into their natural surroundings. Tangier's coastal location adds another layer of allure to this scene. The vastness of the Atlantic Ocean stretches out before our eyes, reminding us of Africa's rich maritime history and its connection to distant lands. As we delve deeper into this monochrome masterpiece, it becomes evident that every detail has been meticulously engraved by Taylor's skilled hand. Each stroke brings life to Tangier's unique charm - from the intricate patterns adorning its buildings to the lush fields surrounding them. This remarkable print is not merely an artistic creation; it also serves as a historical document. It was featured in "The Universal Geography with Illustrations and Maps" authored by Elisee Reclus and published in London in 1895. Through this publication, people around the world were able to catch glimpses of far-off places like Tangier and expand their knowledge about diverse cultures on different continents. Today, thanks
