St Jamess Palace, Pall Mall, Westminster, London
St Jamess Palace, Pall Mall, Westminster, London. Situated on the Mall just to the north of St Jamess Park, St Jamess Palace was commissioned by Henry VIII. It became the official London residence of the monarch in 1698, but lost that status after being damaged by fire in 1809. Today the palace remains the formal base of the Royal Court and is the residence of the Princess Royal and Princess Alexandra

17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame
FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This print captures the grandeur of St James's Palace in Pall Mall, Westminster, London. Built on the orders of Henry VIII, this magnificent palace became the official residence of the monarch in 1698. However, a devastating fire in 1809 resulted in its loss of status as a royal dwelling. Today, St James's Palace still serves as an important hub for the Royal Court and is home to esteemed members of the British royal family such as Princess Anne (the Princess Royal) and Princess Alexandra. The photograph showcases not only the architectural splendor but also offers a glimpse into history with its depiction of horse-drawn carriages traversing the street. The image exudes an air of timeless elegance with its monochrome composition that highlights intricate details like turrets and Tudor-style architecture. It transports us back to sixteenth-century England when coachmen skillfully maneuvered their horses along country lanes and avenues. As we gaze upon this print from Heritage Images, we are reminded not only of London's rich heritage but also of how transportation has evolved over time. This picture encapsulates both tradition and progress within one frame - a testament to our ever-changing world while paying homage to centuries-old craftsmanship that still stands proudly today.
