17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This print takes us back to the enchanting streets of Rome in 1910. The image showcases the bustling Via Nazionale, a historic street that stretches from Piazza della Repubblica to Piazza Venezia. Standing proudly on this iconic avenue are two remarkable architectural gems - the National Dramatic Theatre and Colonna Villa. The National Dramatic Theatre, once a prominent cultural hub, now exists only in memories as it was demolished to make way for Via Nazionale. Its grandeur is evident even in this monochrome depiction, with its intricate facade exuding an air of elegance and sophistication. Next to it stands Colonna Villa, another magnificent structure that adds charm and character to this picturesque scene. Its decorative elements beautifully complement the surrounding architecture, making it a true gem of Roman design. As we gaze at this sepia-toned snapshot frozen in time, we can't help but be transported back to an era where horse-drawn carriages traversed these cobblestone lanes and locals strolled along the avenue adorned with stylish attire. Enrico Verdesi skillfully captured the essence of early 20th-century Rome through his lens, allowing us to appreciate not just the buildings themselves but also their significance within Italian history. This print serves as a reminder of how cities evolve over time while still preserving fragments of their past for generations to come.
