17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This photo print, captured by artist Charles Barbant in 1879, transports us back to the enchanting city of Namur in Belgium. The image showcases a picturesque view of the rocky promontory at the confluence of the Sambre and Meuse rivers, once home to a Roman fortified camp. The striking contrast between light and shadow adds depth to this 19th-century landscape engraving. In the foreground, we see a boat gracefully gliding along the tranquil waters of the river Meuse, symbolizing the importance of water transport during that era. The surrounding hills provide a stunning backdrop for this scene, highlighting Namur's unique geographical features. Barbant's monochrome masterpiece offers us a glimpse into Belgium's rich history and natural beauty. As our eyes wander through every intricate detail meticulously etched on paper, we are reminded of how transportation played an integral role in shaping cities like Namur. With its timeless charm and historical significance, this print captures not only an exquisite moment frozen in time but also invites us to reflect upon our connection with nature and how it has shaped human civilization throughout centuries. It serves as a testament to Barbant's artistic prowess and his ability to capture both physical landscapes and intangible emotions within one frame. As we admire this remarkable piece from Heritage Images' collection without any commercial intentions, let us appreciate its cultural value while immersing ourselves in Namur's past splendor.
