17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame
FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
Irkutsk Noble Women, School Friends, 1904" is a captivating black and white pencil drawing by the Russian artist Boris Vasilievich Smirnov. Smirnov created this work while traveling through Siberia in 1904 as a prisoner transportee. The drawing depicts two noblewomen, dressed in elegant clothing and accessories, standing arm in arm outdoors. The first woman wears a long, fur-trimmed coat and a matching hat, while the second dons a dark dress with a white collar and a muff. Both women are adorned with handbags and wear glasses, adding an air of sophistication and intelligence to their appearance. Their posture and the way their arms are linked convey a sense of loyalty and friendship. The drawing captures the essence of the Russian aristocracy during the early 20th century. The women's attire, with its intricate details and high-quality materials, reflects the wealth and status of their class. The location, likely in Irkutsk, Russia, is suggested by the traditional Siberian landscape in the background. Smirnov's "Irkutsk Noble Women, School Friends, 1904" is a valuable heritage art piece that offers a glimpse into the past. It is a testament to the meeting of frontiers, as the artist brought his artistic vision to the remote and often overlooked regions of Siberia. The drawing is a still image that captures the timeless beauty and elegance of these noblewomen, their friendship, and the era they represent. This drawing is part of the collection of the Novosibirsk State Museum of Regional History and Folklife and can be found in the Library of Congress.
