17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This print captures the historic moment of Louis XI, the King of France from 1461 to 1482, entering Troyes in 1462. The image is based on a stained glass window created by M Gesta of Toulouse, showcasing the remarkable craftsmanship and attention to detail that characterized medieval art. In this scene, we witness a grand procession led by Louis XI himself. The king's presence is marked by his regal attire and prominent position at the forefront of the group. Banners flutter in the wind as men proudly wave flags representing their country. The atmosphere is filled with anticipation and excitement as onlookers gather to catch a glimpse of their monarch. The print transports us back to the 15th century, allowing us to immerse ourselves in this significant historical event. It offers a unique perspective into French monarchy during this era, highlighting both power and pageantry. As we admire this monochrome masterpiece, it becomes evident that every element has been meticulously engraved to capture even the smallest details. From the architecture of Troyes' buildings in Champagne-Ardenne region to each individual figure present in the procession – all contribute towards creating an authentic representation of this momentous occasion. This print serves as a testament not only to Louis XI's reign but also reflects upon France's rich history and cultural heritage during one of its most influential periods -the Middle Ages.
