FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

The Crowds outside Buckingham Palace, A Nation's Apprehension, 1910
EDITORS COMMENTS
. In this photograph captured in May 1910 by Black & White magazine, we witness a poignant moment in British history. The image showcases the anxious crowds gathered outside the majestic gates of Buckingham Palace, their faces etched with worry and anticipation. This powerful snapshot captures a nation on edge as they await news of the health of King Edward VII. Little did they know that their beloved monarch would pass away on the 6th of May that year. The atmosphere is palpable; anxiety hangs heavy in the air. The composition beautifully highlights both the grandeur of Buckingham Palace and the vulnerability felt by its subjects during this uncertain time. Men from all walks of life stand side by side, united in their shared concern for their country's leader. As we gaze upon this monochrome scene frozen in time, it serves as a reminder not only of Britain's deep-rooted monarchy but also of our collective human capacity to empathize and connect during times of national significance. This evocative print transports us back to an era when news traveled slowly and emotions ran high. It encapsulates a pivotal moment in history when a nation held its breath, waiting for fate to unfold within those hallowed palace walls.
