23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

Blind Orion Searching for the Rising Sun, 1658

EDITORS COMMENTS
is a captivating oil painting by Nicolas Poussin that transports viewers to the enchanting world of Greek mythology. This stunning artwork, created in the 17th century, showcases Poussin's mastery of landscape and storytelling. In this scene, we witness Blind Orion, a giant from Greek mythology known for his exceptional hunting skills. Despite his blindness, he stands tall and determined against a picturesque backdrop of rolling hills and lush greenery. With outstretched arms and an intense gaze, he searches tirelessly for the rising sun - a symbol of hope and enlightenment. Poussin's use of color adds depth and vibrancy to the composition. The warm hues of orange and yellow in the sky create a dramatic contrast against the cool blues and greens of nature. Every brushstroke reveals Poussin's meticulous attention to detail as he captures both grandeur and subtlety within this mythical landscape. Displayed at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in France, this heritage art piece continues to captivate audiences with its timeless beauty. It serves as a testament to Poussin's artistic prowess while immersing us in an ancient tale that resonates even today. As we observe "Blind Orion Searching for the Rising Sun" we are reminded that determination knows no bounds - not even blindness can hinder one's quest for truth or their pursuit of greatness.
