31"x27" (79x69cm) Premium Frame
FSC real wood frame with double mounted 24x20 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 31x27 inches (787x685mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This poignant photograph captures a moment in the lives of Chris Adolfs' hardworking children on their new farm in Yakima Valley, Washington, during the Great Depression. Taken by renowned photographer Dorothea Lange in 1939, the image reflects both the economic hardships faced by many American families at that time and the resilience of these young individuals. In this rural setting, we see two girls standing proudly beside a milk can while holding onto a sled. Their determined expressions convey a sense of responsibility beyond their tender years. The girl on the left gazes directly into the camera with an unwavering determination, while her younger sister stands slightly behind her, perhaps seeking guidance or support. Lange's composition skillfully juxtaposes elements of poverty and hope. The rustic surroundings and worn-out clothing suggest limited resources and difficult living conditions. Yet there is also an underlying spirit of perseverance as these children embrace their roles as contributors to their family's survival. Through this powerful image, Lange sheds light on child labor during this era—a harsh reality for many families struggling to make ends meet. It serves as a reminder of both the challenges faced by those affected by economic recession and regionalism in America during that period. Preserved within the Library of Congress archives, this photograph remains an enduring testament to Dorothea Lange's ability to capture raw human emotion amidst adversity—an artistic legacy that continues to resonate with viewers today.
