23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame
FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This colorized print captures the whimsical imagination of W Heath Robinson, showcasing "An Aerial Cricket Match of the Future" in 1918. In this humorous and bizarre concept, Robinson envisions a century ahead where cricket takes to the skies. The British artist's creativity knows no bounds as he presents an airborne spectacle that combines sport with aviation. The scene unfolds high above ground, with biplanes and airships serving as makeshift pitches for this capricious match. Spectators gather in awe, their eyes fixed on batsmen and bowlers defying gravity while engaging in a game that has been elevated to new heights - quite literally! As planes soar overhead, cricketers display their skills mid-air, batting and bowling amidst clouds. Robinson's prediction of future behavior is both amusing and fantastical. His imaginative artwork transports us to a world where flight becomes intertwined with traditional sportsmanship. With his signature wit and attention to detail, he invites viewers into a world filled with boundless possibilities. This colorized version breathes new life into Robinson's original black-and-white print from "The Wonder Book of Aircraft for Boys and Girls". The vibrant hues add depth to the already whimsical scene, allowing us to fully appreciate the artist's vision. As we gaze upon this image, we are reminded of how art can transcend time by blending humor, innovation, and cultural elements like cricket – all within the context of early 20th-century Britain.
