17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame
FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This print showcases the exquisite beauty of a Common Tern, also known as a Sea Swallow (Sterna hirundo). Engraved by the legendary John James Audubon himself for his renowned Birds of America collection between 1827 and 1838, this artwork is an early testament to Audubon's passion for ornithology. The image captures the bird in mid-flight, its wings gracefully extended with an impressive wingspan. The delicate feathers are meticulously detailed, showcasing their intricate patterns and textures. The tern's slender body and long tail add to its elegance, while its webbed feet hint at its aquatic nature. Audubon's mastery shines through in this engraving; every line and stroke brings the bird to life on paper. It transports us back to a time when wildlife exploration was still in its infancy, reminding us of Audubon's invaluable contributions to our understanding of American avian species. Displayed against a neutral background, this print allows us to appreciate every minute detail of the Common Tern. Its beak poised for action suggests that it is ready to dive into the sea below in search of prey. This print from Granger Art on Demand serves as a beautiful homage not only to Audubon but also to the wild wonders that inhabit our world. It invites viewers into Audubon's realm where art meets science and encourages us all to marvel at nature's boundless creations.
