17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

REMINGTON - SIGNAL, c1896. The Blanket Signal - A Captivating Glimpse into the Wild West

EDITORS COMMENTS
. This mesmerizing print captures a pivotal moment in American history, showcasing the extraordinary talent of renowned artist Frederic Remington. Painted in 1896, "The Blanket Signal" transports us back to the late 1800s during the era of westward expansion and frontier life. In this masterpiece, Remington skillfully depicts an equestrian scene that epitomizes both bravery and cultural diversity. A lone American Indian rider on horseback stands tall against a vast landscape, his silhouette casting a striking shadow upon the canvas. With his blanket raised high above his head as a signal, he communicates with unseen companions or perhaps even warns of impending danger. Remington's attention to detail is evident in every brushstroke; from the intricate patterns on the rider's blanket to the muscular form of his trusted steed. The painting exudes an aura of adventure and nostalgia for a bygone era when men like these played vital roles in shaping America's destiny. As we gaze upon this remarkable work of art, we are transported back to a time when untamed landscapes stretched endlessly before us and courageous individuals forged their paths through uncharted territories. It serves as a poignant reminder of our nation's rich heritage and pays homage to those who paved the way for progress. "The Blanket Signal" is not just another painting; it is an evocative window into history
