31"x27" (79x69cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 24x20 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 31x27 inches (787x685mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

Club Foot, 1939 - A Glimpse into Resilience and Hope amidst Adversity

EDITORS COMMENTS
. This poignant black-and-white photograph captures a moment frozen in time during the Great Depression era. In the heart of Tulare County, California, at a migrant workers camp, we see a young boy bravely facing life with club feet. The image showcases his unwavering determination as he sits on an old wooden crate wearing homemade splints. Taken by acclaimed photographer Dorothea Lange in 1939, this powerful snapshot encapsulates both the hardships and resilience of those living through challenging times. The boy's overalls symbolize his humble background while also highlighting the working-class struggle that defined this period. Lange's lens invites us to empathize with this unidentified child who embodies strength despite physical deformity. His eyes reflect hope for a better future, even as poverty surrounds him. This photograph serves as a testament to human spirit and resourcefulness amidst adversity. The presence of these homemade splints suggests that someone cared enough to find a remedy for his condition within their limited means. It is an inspiring reminder that compassion can be found even in the most trying circumstances. As we gaze upon this remarkable piece from Granger Art on Demand collection, let us honor not only Dorothea Lange's masterful photography but also pay tribute to all those who have faced challenges head-on with unwavering courage and resilience throughout history.
