17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This print titled "IMMIGRANTS: ELLIS ISLAND" takes us back to the early 1920s, capturing a significant moment in American history. The image showcases a diverse group of European immigrants arriving at Ellis Island, their gateway to the United States. Oil strokes delicately painted over the photograph add an artistic touch, enhancing its emotional impact. Standing against the backdrop of a bustling city and iconic Statue of Liberty, this snapshot encapsulates both hope and uncertainty. A family can be seen in the foreground; a husband and wife hold hands tightly while their young son clings to his mother's skirt. The father's determined expression reflects his dreams for a better future for his loved ones. The scene is filled with anticipation as immigrants disembark from boats that have just arrived at Ellis Island's immigration station. Their faces reveal mixed emotions - excitement, anxiety, and weariness from long journeys across the Atlantic Ocean. This photograph serves as a reminder of America's rich immigrant heritage and highlights Ellis Island's crucial role in shaping the nation we know today. It symbolizes liberty and opportunity that awaited those who sought refuge or sought to build new lives on these shores. "IMMIGRANTS: ELLIS ISLAND" by 140_1637776 is not just an artwork but also an important historical document that immortalizes the resilience and determination of those who paved their way into this great land of possibilities.
