23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This print showcases a powerful German poster from the early days of World War I. The image depicts Saint George, a symbol of bravery and righteousness, fearlessly slaying a menacing dragon. The poster also features an important proclamation by Kaiser Wilhelm II of Germany, urging the nation to pray for divine intervention and support for their troops. Created in 1914 by lithograph artist Edward Kaempster, this piece is not just a work of art but also serves as propaganda during one of history's most significant conflicts. It captures the spirit and ideology prevalent at that time - portraying Germany as the righteous force combating evil forces represented by the dragon. The juxtaposition between Saint George's heroic stance and the ferociousness of the dragon emphasizes Germany's determination to overcome any obstacle in their path. With its bold colors and attention to detail, this lithograph effectively communicates both patriotism and religious devotion. As we gaze upon this historical artifact today, it offers us a glimpse into how nations used visual imagery to rally support during times of war. It reminds us that even amidst chaos and destruction, faith played an essential role in providing solace and hope for those involved in battle. This print from Granger Art on Demand allows us to appreciate not only its artistic value but also its historical significance as part of World War I propaganda.
