17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This print captures a pivotal moment in history - the Surrender of British General John Burgoyne to General Horatio Gates at Saratoga, New York, on October 17,1777. The drawing, created by German artist Johann Heinrich Ramberg in 1784, beautifully depicts this significant event during the Revolutionary War. In the image, we see General Burgoyne kneeling before General Gates as a symbol of his capitulation. The late afternoon sunlight casts long shadows over the American mountain landscape, adding an air of solemnity and gravity to the scene. A rider on horseback can be seen in the distance, representing both hope and victory for the American troops. Johann Heinrich Ramberg's meticulous attention to detail brings this historical moment to life. Every line and stroke conveys a sense of tension and anticipation as two powerful figures confront each other amidst a backdrop of uncertainty. The Surrender at Saratoga marked a turning point in the American Revolution - it boosted morale for colonial forces while dealing a severe blow to British confidence. This iconic event paved the way for further victories that ultimately led to America's independence from England. This remarkable print from Granger Art on Demand serves as a reminder of our nation's resilience and determination during one of its most challenging periods. It is an invaluable piece that encapsulates not only history but also artistic excellence.
