23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
In this photograph from World War I, we are transported back in time to witness a pivotal moment of espionage. The image depicts a British signal officer intently listening in on a tapped German telephone line. It is an early example of wiretapping during the war, showcasing the lengths that both sides went to gain crucial information. The scene is set amidst the chaos and destruction of the battlefield, with soldiers and troops visible in the background. The British officer stands tall, wearing his helmet as protection while he carries out his clandestine operation. His focused expression reveals the gravity of his task at hand - gathering intelligence that could potentially alter the course of history. Armed with only a revolver and equipped with advanced communication technology for its time, this brave soldier embodies determination and resourcefulness. He serves as a lookout for any vital information that may be transmitted through enemy lines via telephone conversations. This photograph captures not only an individual act of spying but also highlights the larger context of World War I - where every piece of information was crucial to gaining an advantage over one's adversaries. It serves as a reminder of how technological advancements were utilized during wartime and sheds light on lesser-known aspects of warfare beyond traditional combat. As we gaze upon this historic print, we are reminded once again about the sacrifices made by countless individuals who fought valiantly behind enemy lines to ensure victory for their respective nations.
