23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
Talk about a fishy feast! This Cape Gannet knows how to make a splash when it comes to mealtime. With its sleek feathers and sharp beak, this adult seabird dives underwater with precision, ready to devour the 'baitball' school of small bait fish off the coast of Port St. Johns in South Africa's Eastern Cape. Caught in action by photographer Colin Marshall, this incredible print captures the beauty and agility of these marine predators as they plunge into the depths of the Indian Ocean. The Wild Coast provides the perfect backdrop for this moment, showcasing nature's raw power and stunning wildlife. As part of their hunting technique, gannets rely on teamwork and coordination. In groups, they strategically surround their prey before diving headfirst into the water like synchronized acrobats. It's an impressive sight that leaves you in awe of their hunting prowess. The sardine run is a phenomenon that attracts not only these hungry gannets but also other marine creatures eager for a seafood buffet. From dolphins to sharks, everyone wants a piece of the action during this annual migration event along South Africa's coasts. So next time you're near Port St. Johns or exploring the Eastern Cape's Transkei region, keep your eyes peeled for these magnificent birds taking flight and plunging beneath the surface. Who knows? You might just witness another breathtaking display as they dive into an ocean full of delicious treats!
