FSC real wood frame with double mounted 24x20 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 31x27 inches (787x685mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
In this photograph taken by Bert Hardy in 1950, we are transported to the vibrant dockland area of Cardiff, known as Tiger Bay or Bute Town. The image captures a solitary figure walking under a railway bridge, his silhouette perfectly framed against the backdrop of the city. The man's presence adds an air of mystery and intrigue to the scene, as he navigates through this bustling urban landscape. His confident stride suggests familiarity with these streets, perhaps even a sense of belonging within this close-knit community. The architectural details of the bridge and surrounding buildings evoke a sense of history and industrial heritage that is characteristic of docklands across Europe during that era. It is fascinating to witness how such structures played an integral role in shaping cities like Cardiff. This square-format print beautifully encapsulates the essence of timelessness; it transports us back to an era when life moved at a different pace. The monochromatic palette enhances the nostalgic quality, allowing us to appreciate every intricate detail captured by Hardy's lens. As we gaze upon this evocative image, we can't help but wonder about the stories hidden within these streets - tales whispered among residents and visitors alike. This photograph serves as a poignant reminder that beneath its surface lies a rich tapestry woven by generations past – their struggles, triumphs, hopes, and dreams forever imprinted on these very pavements.
