17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame
FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This beautifully illustrated antique print showcases the vibrant and rare red exotic flowers of the garden, captured in a Victorian botanical illustration. Taken from "The Book of Practical Botany in Word and Image" published in 1886, this artwork is a true testament to the intricate beauty of nature. Digitally restored to its former glory, this enchanting piece transports us back to a time when botanical illustrations were highly valued for their scientific accuracy and artistic finesse. The hand-colored design brings out the rich hues and delicate details of each flower, making them come alive on the page. From peonies to chrysanthemums, sage to clover, this composition features an array of uncultivated blooms that add an air of wildness and natural charm. Each stem, leaf, petal, and blossom has been meticulously engraved with precision and care. As we admire this exquisite engraving against a clean white background, it becomes evident that these red exotic flowers are more than just plants; they are works of art themselves. Their beauty is enhanced by the Victorian style in which they are presented – elegant yet bold. With its historical significance as well as its aesthetic appeal, this print serves as a reminder of our fascination with botany throughout centuries past. It celebrates both the scientific exploration into herbal medicine and our enduring appreciation for nature's wonders.
