31"x27" (79x69cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 24x20 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 31x27 inches (787x685mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
In this watercolour painting, we are transported back in time to witness a significant moment in scientific history. The illustration showcases Marie and Pierre Curie, two brilliant minds of the past, standing side by side at their workbench in a laboratory. Dressed in period costumes that reflect the 18th century style, Marie and Pierre exude an air of determination and passion for their research. Their caucasian appearance adds to the authenticity of the scene, highlighting the historical context. As they stand amidst beakers and test tubes filled with mysterious liquids, it is evident that these mid-adult scientists are fully immersed in their experiment. With ink and brush in hand, they meticulously record their findings on white background sheets. This artwork not only captures a snapshot of healthcare and medicine from another era but also serves as a tribute to Marie Curie's groundbreaking discoveries in radioactivity. Her contributions have left an indelible mark on science. Rodney Shackell's masterful brushstrokes bring this historical moment to life with vivid colors and attention to detail. As viewers gaze upon this vertical print, they can't help but feel inspired by the dedication displayed by these two remarkable individuals who shaped our understanding of the world around us
