17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
Step back in time with this print of W H Smiths, taken in January 1921. The exterior of the iconic booksellers, newsagents, and stationers is beautifully captured by the lens of the Topical Press Agency. In this stunning landscape format poster, the vintage charm of England's bustling streets comes to life. The sign advertising Europe adds a touch of wanderlust to the scene, inviting viewers to dream about far-off destinations. The absence of people allows us to focus on the architectural details that make this building truly remarkable. Its grandeur stands tall against a backdrop of railroad tracks, symbolizing progress and connectivity during an era defined by rail transportation. This archival photograph takes us back to a time when W H Smiths was not just a store but also a hub for information and entertainment. As we gaze at this snapshot from nearly a century ago, we can almost hear the rustling pages and feel the excitement that must have filled these walls. With its finance-themed advertisement prominently displayed on its facade, it becomes clear that even then W H Smiths catered to diverse consumer needs. This image serves as a reminder that while times may change, our desire for knowledge and connection remains constant. Add an air of nostalgia and sophistication to your space with this timeless piece from Getty Images' collection – perfect for any lover of history or admirer of classic British culture.
