23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame
FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
In this photograph, we are transported back to the bustling atmosphere of London's Waterloo Station on a chilly winter morning in 1927. The focal point of the image is undoubtedly the majestic locomotive known as Lord Nelson, poised to embark on its journey with the Atlantic Coast Express. However, what truly sets this scene apart is the unique addition of a special look-out cabin perched atop the engine. This extraordinary cabin was designed specifically for expert observers who were entrusted with testing new gear on this powerful steam engine. As they prepared to depart, these knowledgeable individuals would occupy this elevated vantage point, their eyes keenly focused on every detail and movement within the locomotive. The composition exudes an air of anticipation and excitement as passengers scurry about, preparing for their own travels while stealing glances at Lord Nelson's impressive presence. The steam billowing from its chimney adds an ethereal quality to the scene, hinting at both power and nostalgia. Captured by Brooke from Topical Press Agency/Hulton Archive/Getty Images, this remarkable print not only immortalizes an iconic moment in railway history but also serves as a testament to human ingenuity and innovation. It reminds us that progress often requires meticulous examination and experimentation - even amidst everyday routines like train departures. As we gaze upon this snapshot frozen in time, we cannot help but marvel at how far technology has advanced since that cold January day in 1927 when Lord Nelson stood ready for inspection at Waterloo Station.
