17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This black and white portrait takes us back to the aftermath of World War II, specifically to Bournemouth pier on the 22nd of March, 1946. The image, captured by talented photographer Harry Todd, showcases a moment frozen in time - a poignant reminder of the resilience and determination that characterized the home front during this tumultuous period. The photograph depicts Bournemouth pier before its completion of war damage repairs. It serves as a powerful testament to the devastating impact that conflict had on even seemingly idyllic coastal towns like Bournemouth. The scars left behind by bombs and destruction are visible along the length of the pier, evoking a sense of both sorrow and hope for what lies ahead. Todd's masterful use of black and white adds an air of nostalgia to this historic scene. Each crack in the wooden planks tells a story; each weathered beam stands as a symbol of endurance against adversity. As we gaze upon this print from Fine Art Storehouse, we can't help but be transported back in time - imagining what it must have been like for those who lived through such challenging times. This photograph is not just an artistic representation; it is also an important historical document that reminds us never to forget our past struggles and sacrifices. It serves as a tribute to all those who worked tirelessly to rebuild their communities after World War II – turning devastation into renewal with unwavering determination.
