23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame
FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

Chimney Falling - A Glimpse into London's Industrial Past
EDITORS COMMENTS
. This photo print, captured by Graham Wood on the 1st of April 1974, takes us back in time to witness the demolition of a towering chimney in Bromley-le-Bow, London. The image showcases the sheer power and grandeur of this momentous event as thick plumes of smoke billow out from the crumbling structure. In this landscape composition devoid of human presence, we are left to contemplate the significance of this scene. The old chemical factory site serves as a poignant reminder of London's industrial heritage and its contribution to the construction industry and finance sector. This once-thriving hub now stands silent, awaiting transformation. Wood's choice to present this photograph in black and white adds an air of nostalgia and timelessness. It allows us to focus solely on the subject at hand – a decaying chimney symbolizing progress giving way to new possibilities. As we gaze upon this archival piece from 1970s England, we can almost hear echoes from an era long gone. It invites us to reflect on how our consumer-driven society has evolved over time while honoring those who labored within these walls. This print is not just an artistic representation; it is a historical document that captures both the physical destruction taking place before our eyes and also hints at broader societal changes occurring during that period.
