23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
In "Our Flag 1864" by Frederic Edwin Church, a powerful and symbolic image of America during the Civil War is captured. The print showcases the 31-star flag of the Union fluttering amidst the dense smoke of battle, serving as a profound representation of Church's unwavering belief in the ultimate triumph of the Union. The painting evokes a sense of patriotism and resilience, encapsulating the spirit that prevailed during one of America's most tumultuous periods. As viewers gaze upon this artwork, they are transported back to an era defined by conflict and division. Yet, within this chaos emerges a beacon of hope – represented by the resolute presence of Old Glory. Church masterfully captures both beauty and turmoil in his composition. The billowing smoke serves as a reminder that war ravages landscapes and lives alike; however, it also acts as a backdrop against which our nation's symbol stands tall. This juxtaposition suggests that even amid strife, unity can prevail. "Our Flag 1864" not only pays homage to those who fought for their beliefs but also serves as an enduring testament to Church's own convictions about America's future. Through his brushstrokes, he immortalizes his faith in justice prevailing over injustice and unity overcoming discord. As we reflect on this piece today, it reminds us that symbols hold immense power – they inspire courage when faced with adversity and remind us all that no matter how divided we may seem at times, there is always hope for reconciliation and progress towards a brighter
