Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This print captures a remarkable moment in history - a reconstruction of a naval battle performed on the River Seine in front of Henri IV in 1596. Published as an illustration from "Discours de la Ioyeuse et triomphante entree de Henry IIII faicte en sa ville de Rouen" in 1599, this woodcut showcases the grandeur and significance of the event. Henri IV, the King of France and Navarre, arrived in Rouen to initiate a council with French nobles aimed at restoring the country's financial situation and promoting reconciliation between Catholic and Protestant factions. The image depicts part of the city's jubilant celebrations upon his arrival. The scene is filled with energy and excitement as ships and boats engage in a fierce battle on the river. The bridge spanning over the Seine serves as both a vantage point for spectators and an obstacle for combatants. It is evident that meticulous attention to detail was given to recreate this historical moment accurately. Mounted on horseback under an elegant canopy, Henri IV watches intently as his kingdom comes alive before him. This artwork not only commemorates an important event but also reflects Henri IV's determination to bring peace to his realm through diplomatic talks with various estates.
