17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This print takes us back in time to the bustling streets of London around St. Paul's Cathedral in 1563. The image, originally drawn with pen and pencil by Rev. Richard Lovett and published in 1890, offers a remarkable glimpse into medieval London. The intricate details of this street map reveal the city's rich history and architectural marvels that once adorned its skyline. Old St. Paul's Cathedral stands tall, dominating the scene with its grandeur and majesty, while surrounding buildings showcase the unique charm of Tudor-era architecture. From this birds-eye view or aerial perspective, we can imagine ourselves soaring above the vibrant River Thames as it winds through the heart of London. The river serves as a lifeline for trade and transportation, connecting various parts of the city. As we observe this snapshot from centuries ago, it becomes evident that even then, London was a thriving metropolis filled with activity and diversity. People bustle along cobbled streets going about their daily lives amidst market stalls selling goods from near and far. This print not only captures a specific moment in time but also allows us to appreciate how much has changed over centuries while recognizing certain landmarks that have stood the test of time. It serves as a fascinating window into our past—a reminder of both our shared heritage and how far we've come since those days long gone by.
