23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame
FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This print titled "Mayence, on the Rhine, 1895" by William Callow takes us back to the enchanting city of Mainz in Germany during the late 19th century. The artwork, created with pencil and watercolour, showcases Callow's exceptional talent for capturing urban landscapes. In this piece, a large group of people can be seen gathered near the riverbank as they engage in various activities. A sailing boat gracefully glides through the waters of the Rhine River while a rowboat peacefully rests along the shoreline. The headland in the background adds depth and perspective to the scene. Callow's attention to detail is evident in every stroke of his pencil and brush. The fine art quality of this painting transports us back in time to experience life on the riverfront during that era. It beautifully captures both human activity and natural elements within one frame. As we admire this masterpiece, we are reminded of how transportation played a vital role in connecting people across Europe at that time. The sailboat symbolizes not only a means of travel but also represents adventure and exploration. "Mayence, on the Rhine, 1895" is an exquisite example of European art from the late 19th century. Its delicate watercolours bring life to each element depicted within it – from bustling crowds to serene waterscapes – making it a truly remarkable piece worth cherishing for generations to come.
