17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This print captures the breathtaking "View of the Marly Cascade from the Lower Garden of the Peterhof Palace" in St. Petersburg, Russia. Painted by Vasili Semenovich Sadovnikov between 1830 and 1860, this watercolor on paper artwork showcases a magnificent scene filled with grandeur and beauty. The focal point of this image is undoubtedly the Marly Cascade, a stunning waterfall inspired by Louis XIV's palace at Marly. Designed by landscape gardeners I. F. Braunstein and Alexandre Le Blond, it exudes an air of elegance and sophistication. The cascading waters create a mesmerizing spectacle as they flow down golden steps adorned with intricate statues depicting Samson wrestling a lion. The surrounding landscape is meticulously landscaped, showcasing Russian architecture at its finest. The gilded accents throughout add opulence to every corner, while the well-maintained pool reflects the grandeur above it. In addition to capturing this architectural marvel, this print also provides glimpses into Victorian-era leisure activities. A horse and buggy can be seen in the distance, hinting at an elegant mode of transportation for courtiers who would have enjoyed strolling through these gardens. Overall, this image transports viewers back in time to experience both natural beauty and man-made splendor intertwined harmoniously within one frame. It serves as a testament to Sadovnikov's artistic talent and his ability to capture not only physical structures but also emotions evoked by such awe-inspiring scenes.
