Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

The Triumph of Napoleon - A Historic Moment in Paris

EDITORS COMMENTS
. This engraving, created by Philippoteaux in 1873, captures a pivotal moment in French history. The scene depicts the renowned Emperor Napoleon I and his brother Lucien Bonaparte amidst a jubilant crowd within the gardens of the Elysee Palace in Paris. It was June 21,1815 - just one day after Napoleon's defeat at Waterloo and on the eve of his second abdication. The image showcases the resilience and enduring popularity of Napoleon despite his recent military setback. As he stands tall with Lucien by his side, their presence commands attention from both loyalists and curious onlookers alike. Behind imposing gates, an exultant sea of people stretches as far as the eye can see; their cheers reverberate through the air. This historic moment symbolizes not only Napoleon's indomitable spirit but also highlights France's unwavering support for its beloved leader during times of triumph or adversity. The engraving serves as a testament to Napoleon's charisma and ability to captivate crowds even during moments that would have otherwise spelled defeat for lesser individuals. Philippoteaux masterfully brings this scene to life with intricate details that transport viewers back to early nineteenth-century France. From the elaborate engravings adorning fences and barriers to each individual face within the crowd, every element contributes to creating an immersive experience that evokes both awe and admiration. As we gaze upon this remarkable print today, we are reminded of how history has shaped our present while marveling at one man's ability to leave an indelible mark on a nation forever longing for greatness.
