17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame
FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This portrait, titled "Portrait of Therese Girard Aged Three Years and Seven Months" is a stunning example of 19th-century French art. Painted in 1882 by Jules Adolphe Goupil, this oil on canvas masterpiece measures an impressive 162x125 cm. The focus of the painting is a young girl, dressed in an exquisite costume that reflects the fashion trends of the time. Her fair hair cascades down her shoulders in delicate ringlets, adorned with a charming hat. Standing alone against a backdrop of black drapes, she exudes both innocence and melancholy. Goupil's attention to detail is evident in every brushstroke; from the intricate folds of her outfit to the somber expression on her face. The artist skillfully captures not only her physical appearance but also conveys a sense of sadness and heartbreak through his use of color and composition. The setting adds to the overall mood, with hints of red peeking through from behind the curtain, symbolizing passion or perhaps hidden emotions. The horse-drawn carriage outside suggests movement and change while contrasting with the stillness within. This print allows us to appreciate Goupil's mastery as well as experience firsthand the emotional depth he brings to his subjects. It serves as a timeless reminder that art has the power to evoke strong feelings and connect us across centuries.
