17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame
FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

The Picnic, 1874
EDITORS COMMENTS
is a captivating oil painting by Spanish artist Antonio Garcia Mencia. This charming nineteenth-century artwork captures the essence of a leisurely outdoor gathering in the countryside. The scene depicts a medium-sized group of people dressed in their Sunday best, enjoying a sunny day under the shade of a tree. The composition showcases Mencia's mastery of natural light and his attention to detail. Each figure is meticulously painted, with men sporting distinguished beards and mustaches while women don elegant garments and headwear. The picnic basket at the center holds an array of fruits and wine bottles, hinting at the delightful mealtime shared by these individuals. As we observe this lively affair, it becomes evident that more than just food is being savored here; love and relationships are also celebrated. The expressions on their faces reveal joyous connections between couples as they engage in conversation or steal glances at one another. Mencia's choice of colors adds to the overall warmth and vibrancy of the painting. The rich earth tones create an inviting atmosphere that invites viewers to step into this idyllic moment frozen in time. "The Picnic, 1874" stands as a testament to Mencia's skillful portrayal of human emotions within everyday scenes. It serves as both an exquisite example of nineteenth-century European art and a reminder that even simple moments can hold profound beauty when captured through the eyes of talented artists like Antonio Garcia Mencia.
