23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This print showcases the timeless beauty and strength of Cornelia, Mother of the Two Gracchi Brothers. Created in 1861 by Pierre Jules Cavelier, this marble sculpture stands tall at a height of 171 cm in the Musee d'Orsay, Paris. Cornelia's regal presence is evident as she gazes into the distance with a serene expression. Her delicate features are expertly carved, capturing her grace and elegance. As the daughter of Scipio Africanus Major, one of Rome's greatest military leaders, Cornelia carries an air of nobility that transcends time. The sculpture depicts Cornelia surrounded by her two sons, Gaius and Tiberius Gracchus. This family portrait symbolizes not only their familial bond but also their significant roles in Roman history. Both sons became influential figures - Gaius as an orator and politician while Tiberius pursued a career as a lawyer and senator. Through this artwork, Cavelier immortalizes Cornelia's devotion to her children and her unwavering support for their ambitions. It serves as a reminder that behind every great man lies an even greater woman who nurtures his potential. As we gaze upon this masterpiece from centuries past, we can't help but be captivated by its intricate details and emotional depth. It invites us to reflect on the power of family bonds and the lasting impact they have on shaping our world today.
