Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This print captures the historic meeting between King Ferdinand of Hungary and the Cardinal-Infante Ferdinand of Spain at Nordlingen in 1635. Painted by the renowned Flemish artist Peter Paul Rubens, this oil on panel artwork measures 49.1x69.8 cm and is housed in the J. Paul Getty Museum in Los Angeles. The scene depicts an allegorical interpretation of the defeat of Protestant Germany, with a nymph personifying Germania standing prominently in front. The meeting itself took place on the Danube River in September 1634 when these Catholic cousins agreed to join forces against Protestant armies, ultimately achieving victory at the Battle of Nordlingen. Rubens skillfully portrays both Ferdinands on horseback, exuding power and authority as they discuss their military strategy. The composition beautifully balances elements such as water, war symbolism, and intricate details like baroque architecture. This painting serves as a testament to Rubens' mastery of his craft and his ability to capture historical events with artistic flair. It also highlights the significance of alliances during this tumultuous period known as "the thirty years' war". As we gaze upon this remarkable piece from Fine Art Finder's collection, we are transported back in time to witness a crucial moment that shaped European history forever—a moment where two powerful rulers united for a common cause amidst political turmoil and religious conflict.
