31"x27" (79x69cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 24x20 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 31x27 inches (787x685mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This print showcases the masterpiece "Madonna and Child with the Donor, Pietro de Lardi, Presented by Saint Nicholas" created by Master GZ in the early 15th century. The artwork, measuring 116.5x110.8 cm, is currently housed at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. The painting depicts a sacred scene where Madonna and Child are seated on an ornate throne. The Virgin Mary tenderly holds baby Jesus while being presented to them by Saint Nicholas himself. This religious altarpiece was commissioned by Pietro de Lardi, who later became deputy general to Borso d'Este, Duke of Ferrara. The artist's attention to detail is evident in this tempera and gold on wood composition. From the intricate coat of arms adorning Pietro de Lardi's clothing to the halo surrounding each figure's head, every element exudes a sense of divine significance. Notably, this piece reflects Italian Renaissance influences with its exquisite portrayal of biblical figures and religious symbolism. It serves as a testament to both Christian devotion and artistic mastery during that era. As we admire this remarkable work from centuries ago, it allows us to appreciate how art has long been intertwined with religion and spirituality. Through its timeless beauty and profound subject matter, "Madonna and Child with the Donor" continues to inspire awe among viewers today.
