17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This print transports us back to the enchanting Palm House at Potsdam in 1833. The image, captured on paper and beautifully displayed on canvas, showcases the extraordinary talent of Karl Blechen, a renowned German artist from the 19th century. As we gaze upon this mesmerizing scene, our eyes are immediately drawn to the lush greenery that surrounds us. Towering palm trees create an exotic oasis within the glass walls of this magnificent greenhouse. The atmosphere is filled with a sense of tranquility and wonder as sunlight filters through the leaves, casting delicate shadows across the space. Intriguing elements of orientalism captivate our attention throughout this composition. A graceful female musician stands amidst tropical foliage, her presence adding a touch of mystique to this already magical setting. Exotic birds flit about freely, their vibrant plumage contrasting against the verdant backdrop. Blechen's meticulous attention to detail allows us to fully immerse ourselves in this hothouse haven. Every leaf and petal is rendered with precision and care, making it almost possible for us to feel their velvety textures beneath our fingertips. This remarkable artwork serves as a testament not only to Blechen's artistic prowess but also as a window into an era when exploration and discovery were highly valued. It invites us into a world where nature's wonders intertwine with human creativity – an invitation we gladly accept each time we behold its beauty.
