17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

Ile aux Orties near Vernon, 1897

EDITORS COMMENTS
is a captivating oil on canvas painting by the renowned artist Claude Monet. This masterpiece, measuring 73.3x92.7 cm, is housed in the prestigious Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. The artwork depicts Ile aux Orties, a small island located near the confluence of the Epte and Seine rivers close to Giverny, where Monet often docked his boats. The scene showcases Monet's mastery of capturing nature's beauty and his distinct Impressionist style. In this enchanting landscape, Monet skillfully portrays a serene riverbank adorned with lush trees that reflect their vibrant colors onto the calm waters below. The play of light and shadow creates an ethereal atmosphere that transports viewers into the heart of Normandy's picturesque countryside. Monet's brushstrokes evoke a sense of movement and spontaneity while maintaining precision in depicting every detail. His use of vibrant hues brings life to each element within the composition, from the verdant foliage to the tranquil river flowing gently through its course. This artwork exemplifies Monet's dedication to capturing fleeting moments in nature and immortalizing them on canvas. It serves as a testament to his profound connection with landscapes and his ability to translate emotions onto artistic creations. "Ile aux Orties near Vernon, 1897" stands as an iconic representation of French Impressionism—a revolutionary art movement that challenged traditional techniques—and solidifies Claude Monet as one of history's most celebrated painters.
