FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
The Martyrdom of St. Sebastian, 1624" is a captivating oil painting by French artist Horace Leblanc. This powerful artwork depicts the tragic fate of St. Sebastian, a Christian martyr who was executed during the Roman Empire for his faith. In this scene, we see St. Sebastian bound to a tree trunk, his body pierced by numerous arrows as an act of punishment and torture. Despite the excruciating pain he endures, there is an air of serenity surrounding him – perhaps reflecting his unwavering devotion to his beliefs. Leblanc's skillful use of light and shadow adds depth and drama to the composition. The play of light on the saint's muscular physique creates a striking contrast against the dark background, emphasizing both his physical strength and spiritual resilience. The presence of angels hovering above St. Sebastian further enhances the ethereal quality of this painting. These celestial beings serve as symbols of divine protection and comfort in times of suffering. Measuring 225x150 cm, this masterpiece can be found at Musee des Beaux-Arts in Rouen, France – a fitting home for such an important piece that showcases both artistic excellence and religious significance. "The Martyrdom of St. Sebastian" continues to captivate viewers with its emotional intensity and timeless message about sacrifice and faith even centuries after its creation.
