23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame
FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This print takes us back to the 19th century in Franconia, Germany. The image showcases a young girl from the environs of Bamberg, dressed in her Sunday best as she makes her way to church. Clutching a prayer book close to her chest, she exudes an air of innocence and devotion. Every detail of her attire is meticulously captured in this handcoloured copperplate engraving. Her throat is delicately covered by a scarf, while her hair is neatly tucked away under a folded fichu. Pleated petticoats add volume to her dress, giving it an elegant flair. And let's not forget about those eye-catching red stockings that peek out from beneath her skirt. The artist behind this masterpiece, Georges Jacques Gatine, has truly brought this young girl to life with his skilled craftsmanship. His attention to detail and use of color make every element pop off the page. As we gaze upon this enchanting image, we can't help but be transported back in time. We imagine ourselves walking alongside this young girl through the cobbled streets of Bamberg on a peaceful Sunday morning. It serves as a reminder of simpler times and the importance placed on faith and tradition during that era. This print is not just an exquisite piece of art; it's also a window into history—a glimpse into the lives and customs of people long gone but forever immortalized through images like these.
