17"x15" (43x38cm) Premium Frame

FSC real wood frame with double mounted 10x8 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 17x15 inches (431x381mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

The New Mantegna, at the National Gallery

EDITORS COMMENTS
is a captivating engraving that transports viewers to a moment of profound religious significance. Created by Andrea Mantegna in the 15th century and now housed in a private collection, this masterpiece showcases the artist's exceptional talent for capturing spiritual themes. In this mesmerizing scene, we witness the Virgin Mary enthroned with baby Jesus on her lap. The divine light illuminates their serene faces as they are surrounded by St. John the Baptist and Mary Magdalene, both figures symbolizing unwavering faith and devotion. Mantegna's attention to detail is evident in every stroke of his engraving tool. From the delicate folds of fabric draping around Mary's figure to the intricate expressions on each character's face, he brings an unparalleled realism to this sacred tableau. The inclusion of children adds an additional layer of innocence and purity to this religious narrative. Their presence reminds us that Christianity embraces believers from all walks of life, regardless of age or status. As we gaze upon "The New Mantegna" we are reminded not only of its historical significance but also its timeless relevance. It serves as a powerful testament to Christian values and invites contemplation on our own spiritual journey. This print from Fine Art Finder allows us to appreciate Mantegna's genius even if we cannot see it firsthand at the National Gallery. Let it inspire awe and reflection as we delve into the depths of religious art through one man's extraordinary vision.
