23"x19" (58x48cm) Premium Frame
FSC real wood frame with double mounted 16x12 print. Double mounted with white conservation mountboard. Frame moulding comprises stained composite natural wood veneers (Finger Jointed Pine) 39mm wide by 21mm thick. Archival quality Fujifilm CA photo paper mounted onto 1mm card. Overall outside dimensions are 23x19 inches (584x482mm). Rear features Framing tape to cover staples, 50mm Hanger plate, cork bumpers. Glazed with durable thick 2mm Acrylic to provide a virtually unbreakable glass-like finish. Acrylic Glass is far safer, more flexible and much lighter than typical mineral glass. Moreover, its higher translucency makes it a perfect carrier for photo prints. Acrylic allows a little more light to penetrate the surface than conventional glass and absorbs UV rays so that the image and the picture quality doesn't suffer under direct sunlight even after many years. Easily cleaned with a damp cloth. Please note that, to prevent the paper falling through the mount window and to prevent cropping of the original artwork, the visible print may be slightly smaller to allow the paper to be securely attached to the mount without any white edging showing and to match the aspect ratio of the original artwork.

EDITORS COMMENTS
This chromolitho print showcases Jeffrey Hudson, an intriguing figure in English history. Serving as a court dwarf and jester at the royal court of King Charles I and Queen Henrietta Maria, Hudson's diminutive stature made him a unique entertainer in the 17th century. Dressed in elaborate Stuart costume, Hudson is depicted with his characteristic charm and wit. This educational image provides a glimpse into the fascinating world of British royalty during this time period. The artist beautifully captures Hudson's small frame against a backdrop of regal opulence. His presence adds an element of whimsy to the otherwise formal setting, reminding us that entertainment was valued even among nobility. Interestingly, this Liebig card was part of a series on famous dwarfs published in the late 19th or early 20th century. It highlights how figures like Hudson were celebrated for their unusual appearances and abilities. Beyond his role as an entertainer, this print invites contemplation about society's perception of physical differences throughout history. It serves as a reminder that diversity comes in many forms and should be embraced rather than stigmatized. Overall, this chromolitho print offers both visual delight and historical insight into the life of Jeffrey Hudson – an extraordinary individual who left his mark on English court culture during one of its most tumultuous periods.
